In addition to writing, Hallie Pritts spent more than ten years in the music business as a songwriter, musician, and publicist. Performing under the name Boca Chica, her songs combined surreal lyrics and instrumentation with bar band appeal. Musically, Boca Chica drew inspiration from classic country stars like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton and filtered those twangy tendencies through a modern indie pop lens.
Hallie’s work has been featured on National Public Radio, released by several small European record labels, and reached number one on Americana radio charts.
Additionally, Hallie has worked behind the scenes as a publicist for record labels in Nashville and Atlanta, securing press for her clients in such outlets as The Today Show and the New York Times.
